BioProcessingDays Innovation Hub - 02.-03. of March 2026

BioProcessingDays 2026

Frank Eiden, one of the founders of fermSYS, invited to the BioProcessingDays 2026 at the Westfälische Hochschule in Recklinghausen and bringing together experts from academia and industry. This year’s event focused on in-depth discussions about the many aspects of cultivating microbes in the laboratory and how to obtain the maximum amount of information from time spent in the lab. A new format, the Innovation Hub, created space for interactive exchanges on topics such as quantitative microbiology, inline data acquisition, informed bioprocess control and digitalisation including data management. A highlight of the program was the presentation by Lorenzo García Tejada from RWTH Aachen University. He shared insights on how fermSYS VOC sensors can be used to control beneficial methanol concentrations during the cultivation of methylotrophic yeast. More details about this work are available in the fermSYS blog: IOT-based process control prevents methanol toxicity In addition, participating companies presented solutions designed to accelerate biotechnological processes — an essential capability in an increasingly competitive field. Thanks to all participants for your great interaction.
