Bridging the Gap between Biology and Data Science
Since 2011, as a professor of bioprocess engineering in Recklinghausen, I have been shaping the future of biotechnology. My driving force: making bioprocesses smarter. As the founder of the Application Centre for Applied Biotechnology (APZ) and host of the international BioProcessingDays, I am connecting communities and driving innovation.
The “Bioprocess Engineering” research group has been focusing on data-driven optimisation for over six years. From sensor development and process simulation to the construction of functional prototypes – the team is delivering the tools for the bioprocesses of tomorrow.
Skills:
Leadership: BioProcess Engineering Working Group & Application Centre for Applied Biotechnology (APZ)
Research: Bioprocess optimisation, process simulation, PAT (Process Analytical Technology)
Technology: Sensor integration, prototype development, measurement and control technology
Transfer: Scientific director of the international conference "BioProcessingDays"
